While the corporate world is scrambling to comply with the new lease accounting standards and are concerned how the new reporting rules will affect their balance sheets, a surprising group has been quiet: Wall Street.

Most of the analysts questioning corporate executives during quarterly calls seem to be focused on traditional lines of questioning such as revenue and earnings and growth forecasts. Even when the subject was accounting, corporate financial executives would provide insight into implementation plans for ASC 842 with no prompting and very little pushback from analysts.
